On the 28th of September, Brussels was the scenario of the Final Conference of the RAIN.BOW (Raise Against Intolerance, New Bridges On the Web) project. A day to discover the #RainbowErasmusPlus and participate on the conferences, workshops and networking cafés sharing international insights on polarisation, hate speech and European Values. Almost 100 persons registered to the different acts of the day.
In the morning, Mrs. Laura Bonaita, Chief of AFP project office, welcomed all the participants and explained the beginning of the project. Also Mr. Giuseppe Guerini welcomed the assistants in behalf of the European Economic and Social Committee. Then Mr. Wester Meijdam (Policy advisor European commission) introduced us on the Commission's policies to combat hate speech, hate crime and discrimination.
Finally, Mr. Massimo Malanchini and several students explained the teacher training and the experience of the European Values camp in Kranevo (Bulgaria). This was followed by Mrs. Michela Molta (AFP and Rain.Bow project coordinator) with Mrs. Reni Dimova (CCT) and Mr. David Ribes Lladós (CEPS) presentation about the different Rain.Bow activities and deliverables and also launched the European Values Campaign.
On the afternoon, the participants split between the 8 workshops available. They were held in 2 different time-slots so people could attend 2 workshops during the day. The themes were:
