Meeting 7-8-9 CONSCIOUS USE OF MEDIA AND CREATIVITY

ACTIVITY SHEET – CIVIC AND CITIZENSHIP TRAINING –

NON FORMAL EDUCATION AND ARTISTIC CONTENT

THEME: 7. DEVELOPING SOCIAL VALUES THROUGH WORKSHOP PLAN: 7-8-9. CONSCIOUS USE OF MEDIA AND CREATIVITY Objectives:

  • Develop critical and creative thinking;

  • Link social and civic competences to daily life and to other topics such as environment, human rights, discrimination and politics;

  • Develop teachers competences on social media;

  • Raise students awareness against the use of strong words or abuse;

  • Raise students awareness of the “digital identity” and social literacy;

  • Identify abuse.

Duration:

  • 3 meetings X 60 min/one

Skills and knowledge acquired:

  • Increasing self- and other-confidence;

  • Reduce social inhibitions among group members

  • Awareness on social and civic competences increased;

  • Awareness on media and digital literacy increased;

  • Creation of a common language

  • Creative and critical thinking developed;

  • Develop listening skills

  • Express your opinions without offending others

  • Listen to and accept the opinions of others

Materials needed:

  • Colors, pens, white papers of various sizes;

  • A big room is required;

  • Chairs;

  • Photos cut from magazines;

  • Various objects to create questionable photos

Suggested facilitation method: Meeting 1: Media - intercultural

  1. ON THE TRAIN: Reflect on the mechanisms of communication in a closed setting, especially nonverbal communication (proxemics and nonverbal) and replicate human behavior. (20 min)

  2. MIXED BULLET: This activity allows students to reflect on the actions and non-actions that contribute to the promotion or carrying out of an act of cyberbullying by understanding the mechanisms involved (25 min)

  3. COMPARISON: Comparison of experiences (10 min)

Meeting 2: Participation, roles

  1. SHORT PLAY/DRAMA: With the use of dramatization, students will reflect on the various roles involved in cyberbullying by learning to recognize them (45 min)

  2. COMPARISON: Comparison of experiences (15 min)

Meeting 3: Digital Education

  1. MIX IDEAS: Image, video, and hashtag creation activities to open discussions and comparisons about how online images and videos can have an impact and leave traces, differences from reality and repercussions at the legislative level (45 min)

  2. COMPARISON: Comparison of experiences (15 min)

Possible variant: You can use cases that you have previously "prepared" in case you run out of inspiration.
